hilde
Some days ago I decided to retexture Rose Donation Hair #41, I´ve always liked it. Because it is a bit curly I have drawn the textures by hand. It´s the first time I did so and the textures are far away from perfect but in my game they look quite nice tough.
So I thought I could upload them, maybe someone will have them use for the hair.

I was in the mood to do a photoshoot and maybe I carried away a little bit. On my old computer I started a kind of medieval story because  i love everything medieval, elven and such things. But I had to give it up because my computer simply was too bad and all the downloads I needed...
But with my new computer it´s much easier. I think about to start with the story again, but of course I don´t have all the great downloads anymore. I think I will search for medieval stuff these days and maybe I am in the mood to begin soon.
And because this hair goes great with medieval sims, elfs, princesses etc. I have done the shoot in this style, or at least I hope so.
However, here are the pics I´ve done, don´t wonder - I wanted to test out many different poses. But mainly it´s all about the hair of course :)

Looks pretty on elven ladies...

Maybe it´s a bit to "well groomed" for the normal or poorer medieval women but who cares

I think it looks pretty on them :)

I don´t know why I made her crying . She reminds me of one person in the story who cries a lot, maybe because of that.

Unfortunately I forgot to add expressions to their faces :(

Here the hair on more rich looking sims.

My "set" in the forest :)

Now it goes to princess theme. Here my elven lady posing at princess in the hall :)

I love trees.

My poorer sims now as princesses :P

I´ve also used Helen as a princess :)

The ball begins! :P Unfortunately I don´t have so much guests and only three princes^^

And they can only do one dance which fits the princess theme...

The two girls dance together because I have no boys on the lot :D

Here is the real princess actually.

Grannie model also used once more :P

Oh they look crazy...

The fountain <3

Feet of princess & prince - she stomped on his ones...

He is not amused. I haven´t created him by the way, I used the boolprop... cheat (you know which one) and "add family member"  and so on. I think he is acceptable as a prince while not even pretty.

The elven princess is dreaming...

...of her prince :P

Looks for her prince together with Helen. I don´t think there is one in the forest but who knows.

They gave up ;D No prince outside.

Feet of the teens

Oh he stomped on her feet^^

Here, the teen prince. He is quite cute :)

Little princesses have fun.

Oh I forgot to change her eyebrows...

Oh, Helen has the blonde prince now :)

The girls are bored...

haha :D

So, the hair looks great on "normal" sims too :) Especially on bohemians etc. of course

So, and at last, the hair goes great for vampires & witches!

I hate that everthing turns blue in their faces - especially the blue eyebrows look slightly stupid >:(

I love these pics :)

Very dramatic...

In the end I let them dance Hula :P

It was very funny...

Oh no the blue eyebrows... :l

So, last pic :P

Here are all colours in one picture, except grey:

Maybe you have seen it in the pics, I´ve done 9 colours. 1 black, 2 browns, 3 blonds, 3 reds. Well the third red is actually some kind of strawberry blond but for me this hair colours is more red than blond; it looks strange anyway in my opinion, but... And sorry for let the browns came off badly in my pics :P
The only thing about the hair which bothers me is the butterfly clip. But it´s (non-alpha) part of the mesh and I couldn´t get rid of it  >:(
The butterfly takes the medieval flair away a bit but you can simply ignore it.
So, the main information in the end^^:
-all colours binned as you will have seen, linked to one grey (which is linked to black), family linked in general
-from child to elder
-compressed + all duplicate textures removed - pretty small filesize :D
-the wonderful mesh by rose is included in the rar

I've always loved your retextures and these are great! I agree with you about the butterfly clip, but it's still all very nice. I'm downloading these for my game right now. :D

Oooh I love this hair! I've been hoping someone would retexture it!

Question: May I ask where you got the windmill?

I can't believe I never saw this before! This post has been around for a month and a half already!

That hair is really pretty, it's a classic. I used it before, but threw it away when cleaning up. I might just download it again in your version..

Really nice photoshoot as well. Your elven lady is gorgeous. :) And your set is too!

And! And! Are (were?) you really intending to revive your medieval neighbourhood? :D If so I would be really interested to see it! I might even be able to help you with searching for good CC. If you like. I've been thinking about cooking up a medieval resource post for a while now...

Scrolling through and admiring your pictures again I have a question to ask:
Would you know where you found the big red flowers in this picture - I believe they're called hollyhocks in English? They are so pretty in front of quaint cottages :)

Thanks for your nice comment Nimi! I play with the thought of my medieval hood. The funny thing is I´ve had kept all my medieval DLs on my PC for more than one year, just for the case I would start a ´hood again. A few months ago I deleted the folder. And now I would be happy about them ;D
The main problem is that I have very much CC already, so I would have to swap DL-folders when I wanna play medieval. Well, that´s not so bad... but I am still not sure^^
Thanks about your offer for helping me with good CC - I will tell you about my "plans" in starting the medieval neighbourhood and then you can help me :) I´ve had such beautiful CC... but I am sure there is something better out now... :)
The beautiful Hollyhocks are by Bienchen at MTS, here: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=320128

I know what you mean. It is very unfortunate, but starting with a clean slate is worth something too. (I know I found it very refreshing when having to start over with medieval CC, as I was freed of all the accumulated crap!)

I do the swapping-thing, actually.. I'm not finding it very irritating, it's just a matter of knowing which folder is in and loading the right neighbourhood ^^
It allows for having different defaults, too. (For example road textures or maternity replacements.) You could also use the Any Game Starter for this, but I have personally never used it - I have an 'always' folder too, with hair and mods and other things I use in both settings, and I didn't have enough space on my hard drive to have those files twice.

When having to start all over after losing my medieval CC, I only redownloaded the good stuff, of course, and I'm now really picky about what to use. I'm sure you know most of that stuff as well, judging by your pretty CC in the above pictures :), but I'd be delighted to help you out.
(I just need to find the time to be able to write a list!)

I can't wait to hear your new plans. You're going to start an all-new neighbourhood? Does it include elves? :)

And thank you very much for that link! The hollyhocks are going to look amazing next to some quaint cottages.
